Ellinor Mary Barnett was the seventh child of Arthur George Barnett and Kate Webster, born in Dunsden, Oxon in Oct-December, 1886.
At the time of the 1891 census, Ellinor was listed with her parents at Hampstead Farm, Eye and Dunsden, OXF. She was 4 years old.
She was still living with her parents in 1901 at Priest Hill, Caversham. Oxon.
Ellinor married Harold Frank French on November 15th, 1909 at the Register Office, Norwich, Norfolk. They were married by licence. Harold was 21, a bachelor, a dispenser of medicine of 34 Neville Street, Heigham. He was born April-June 1888 at Bicester, the son of Sarah H & Walter Joseph French, Post Master, retired. Ellinor was 23, a spinster, of 33a Prospect Street, Caversham. Her father, Arthur George Barnett, was a retired farmer. The witnesses were Leslie Emmerson and Cecil W Hall.
In 1911 Ellinor & Harold were living at 11 Caernarvon Rd, Norwich & Harold was a medical dispenser & book keeper. They had a 10 month old son, John Bernard.
Harold served with the Hampshire Regiment Royal Army Medical Corps in WW1.
On May 6th, 1920 Ellinor, Harold, son John Bernard & daughter Joan (6) sailed from Southampton on the S.S. Arawa for New Zealand. Harold’s occupation was given as a chemist.
The family lived in the Wellington area of New Zealand as noted on a number of electoral registers.
Ellinor died in 1961 in Wellington, NZ & Harold died in 1966, also in Wellington.
